i am currently running an experiment wherein the machine i use with vdj never goes online to test functionality/speed/freezes/etc

the constant variable will obviously be a machine with vdj that is constantly connected to the internet

in regard to 'remembering things' via virtual ram/cookies/etc songs and music will be the most tracked because they have the most potential financial repurcussion

you can bet your socks that microsoft partially tracks what is happening with songs and song software on your machine

paranoia self destroya

not sure NEVER online is the best choice. You need upgrades to DirectX and the windows system itself :)

Just dont go install a buch of shareware programs, buggy games etc, if you want you keep your pc clean as a dj pc :)

Since I went with VDJ in 2004 I've never had a machine that was connected to the Internet other than required updates, pretty much like dj-in-norway said... DirectX.

I have a primary machine and a cloned back-up that are both decated for business purposes only.

My rewards: I never had a crash with a Atomix mp3 from 2004 till 2006.

I have only a few freezes after going 100% Video in 2006. (15 hours a week in clubs... 45 weeks a year)

No need to experment, just do the math. :-)

PS: I saw your photo of Rick James and your profile:
"i enjoy romantic adventures like long walks on the beach and moonlight picnics"

Since you are going to be "constantly connected to the internet" can I suggest "meAt-hotgirls .com"

i tried that site and they told me i wasn't what they were looking for?

how can that be?

with my curls so tight and shiny and my cowboy kerchief to catch the drip?

i would like to develop an internet system that has no ties to any major corporation or governmental entity.

when cars were first invented and mass produced in the US, the parts were meant to break after a specific amount of time in order to form a new thriving industry to accompany the auto industry: the auto parts industry.......

follow with me..........this is the same a/effect that the internet has on machines. being connected to the internet makes your machine eventually break or slow down to the point where you give up and buy a new machine the same way that cars were meant to break thereby forming the thriving compu/machine parts industry.

obviously there are several other variables involved, permutations, etc.

but to answer the question: yeah that site said no go.
