Topic: Mac vs PC

I am in the market for a new laptop to use soley for dj'ing... I am currently a mobile video dj using an outdated dell...I was originally set on the dell xps but the video cards aren't as powerful as the one the mac comes with. I like the mac but am a little skeptical because I have always used a pc..What is everyone out there using and any recomendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks everybody and Happy Holidays!

You can run Vista on a Mac. Just make sure it has the Intel processor. PC World magazine wrote an article about the Intel group pf Macs. Their exact line is, and I quote "If you want Vista to run up to its full potential, run it on a Mac." So, buy the mac, purchase bootcamp, and run Vista, and OSX on the machine. Best of both worlds.....
 
thanks Tear-Em-Up, i was looking at the MacBook Pro here are the specs, what do you think:

Intel Core 2 Duo
2.53 GHZ
4GB Memory
320 GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 9400m + 9600M GT with 512MB Video Card

The lesser model is:

2.4 GHZ
2GB Memory
250GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce 9400m + 9600M GT with 256MB Video Card
 
Both specs is good but if u can afford the higher spec, why not..it's an investment;)

N welcome as a mac user..i hope..hehe.
 
for god sake, get a mac!!!!!! greatest purchase i ever made.. ive had mine for a year and never had a single issue with it...
the only downside in terms of Djing is that i believe that some of the mappers and tools are only available for PC...
 
I say if you want to run windows dont get a mac. Honestly I am an artist and animator I worked for companies that use 'bootcamp' and have issues down the road. Also mac does not support windows boot camp is at your own risk..... I was recieving kernal panics on my imac and once i deleted the windows partition they stopped. Again only buy a mac to run MAC osx if you do not want to run osx spend the same amount on a pc....

all this coming from some one that uses macs exclusivly so not bashing the mac :)
