Topic: Error in the video driver ...

Hey All,

VJ Tre here - well from those that remember me from last week, I'm brand new to VDJ. Here is a link to my post last week just to refresh anyone's memory, if anyone cares - haha:

So anyway, I did in fact get with my VJ friend this past Monday - we didn't get to play long due to time but we were trying to figure out some technical stuff - anyway, I have plenty of videos ripped to my external drive (enough for me to play around and practice with) but ... tonight I'm getting an message that reads "Error in the video driver ..." everytime I go to load a video. The track will load and I can play it and I'll hear the music, but there is no video output. This is only my 3rd time turing my new lap top on. The VDJ software was up and running fine this past Monday so ... not sure why the hell it's acting up now. I closed it down and opened it again but it's doing the same thing. SIGH!

My friend is playing tonight so he won't see my email until tomorrow. Any advice anyone?

Are you just using your laptop or have it hooked up to a moniter? If it's just the monitor, start VDJ go to the config button, click video, make sure it's enabled and tick off activate before you load a video onto the deck. See if that "might" be it. How did the naming of the videos work out? showing up the vdj the way you want?
 
after opening VDJ at the beginning you must go into config > video and tick the box mark video at the top of the page, a little further down if sending your video to screens choose your video output driver in the drop down window...

no probs mate, this may also help Tre when using the plug ins...
 
Thanks all - I'm only playing on my lap top, I don't have it hooked up to a monitor. So I clicked "config" and I clicked the video tab -- under video output the "activate" box is NOT checked. Am I suppoed to have that checked? Again, I'm just using the lap top right now - not hooked up to any monitors.

The naming of the files worked out great - thanks :-)
 
Yep, click activate, sometimes it will automatically, but can't rely on that

That was it - thanks all :-) ... but now I have to go to bed ... UGH!
 
I've been a proud member for over four years now and I am happy to say that this is by far the best software yet. :)
