Topic: A Shocking Performance

Last night I was doing my normal Friday night show. I went to the bar to get a drink and when I came back I reached for my Hercules RMX controller to adjust the sound level, and when I did I felt a static electricity shock as soon as I touched. This was followed by the worst thing that could have happened, my RMX completely shut down!!! I paniced and restarted my computer, vdj was still running but that did no good since my RMX acts as my sound card, once my computer shut down I switched to a different USB port and all was well again. But man, what a scare!!!

Had that happen once as I was late in plugging in my phones to my Fast Track, bam silence.
Fortunitely it was early in the evening.
 
Go invest in one of these. I had similar issues last winter, this was the way I resolved it. Remember to touch someone, or something besides your PC/RMX if you have to disconnect.
 
thats a good idea terry. what does it ground to?
 
Anything metal on the PC or RMX. I attache to the mic cable....
