i haven't played korean songs for a long while
so, i can not tell from which version(think V5...) on this started to happen
i started re-mastering a few songs recently and ....
once i analyze a song including korean characters in the file name
it will show the info(bpm, length etc.)
but after shuting vdj down and open it up again
the info is gone
so i took a look at the database
it is not saving the info properly for songs incl. kor. characters
1. some songs look alright,
some songs are saved with some unreadable/strange looking characters

should be

2. some analyzed songs have their info saved,
but vdj will also have another entry each time i load the song as it was not analyzed

VirtualDJ is not yet fully compatible Unicode but it's planned for a next version ;-)

No the database has never been written in Unicode for the moment

just double checked
had some old database(V4) backups
everything was saved right, as i mentioned above
with all the info(bpm, length etc.)
the only thing you (still) can not do is a search
but at least vdj used to save the info right
maybe, it's my misunderstanding regarding unicode ...
anyway...
something changed with the new database
which refuses to save korean songs in a proper way
hope it'll be fixed soon
