I have used without problems in Windows XP 64bit:
Saphire Brand, chipset ATI X1550 with 512MB DDR2 PCIe16x
Saphire Brand, chipset ATI X1650 with 512MB DDR2 PCIe16x
EVGA Brand, chipset NVidia 7600GT with 256MB DDR3 PCIe16x
With that Nvidia the 1080p videos play very smooth, it is faster than the others, maybe because it has DDR3 memory.

Have you noticed any difference good or bad with the 64 instead of 32 bit system?

I had a P4 HT 3.0 ghz, intel mobo, 2GB RAM, SATA 7200 rpm that used 4 years without problems, but in november I update it with a Dual Core 3.0 ghz, intel mobo, 8Gb in RAM, same hard disks, and I instaled Windows 32 bit and I didnt notice any difference at all. So I was a little dissapoint on my new PC... but after reading for a while, I own the 64 bit version and there is a LOT of performance diference. Specially transfering (copying and moving files).
Windows 32 only "sees" 3.5 Gb or 3.7 Gb, but didnt care at all, now 64 sees all the 8 GB.
Win64 "knows" how to handdle 64 bit hardware, so thats why has better perfomance, while 32 bit dont use the 64 bit architecture... I can say that is a waste of hardware with 32 bit OS (it is my personal point of view).
Windows 64 didnt recognize:
My generic Bluetooth dongle.... Its not a must, but it will be cool to have it again
My generic webcam... Im no a teenager anymore (Im 31), so I dont use it anymore
My Laserjet 1300n... dunno why if HP offers 64 bit drivers. I have to connecting via network with my router and now works pretty well.
Im happy with my 64bit, and If I go with Vista, I will go for the 64 version.

Perfectly.... not a single problem or hick-up. I can run multiple plugin at the same time.
I love my machine. clean out the circuitry and plug everything in the same ports in same cycle. I do my video editing on it with Vegas.

I am running a AMD 3.0 dual core, Vista, with the ATI Radeon X1950 Pro with no issues. My other system is running the X1900 card with no issues on a 2.8 Single core AMD
