I downloaded the trial version 5.07 to check out all the features...Everything seems to work great but the video plays as an mp3 not as an mpg.
The mpg will play in all my other media player (real player, windows media player etc)
The sound plays, the wave form runs, everything loads but no video. Does the trial version not play video?
The video settings are correct as far as I can tell. mpg is listed in the codecs, using the video decoder All boxes are checked on the video tab in the config section.
I'm using a dell 510 latitude laptop, 1.5 gb ram, 7gb of free space, XP pro, 1.6mhz processor.
Any ideas? Anyone!

Try downloading a codec pack from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
2nd, you're specs aren't the best, don't know about you're gpu is enough. You will probably not be able to do video with those specs. Try out that codec pack (standard), to rule that out.

I downloaded the pack but it only seems to be for the basic media player that is in the pack...
How do I import the new codecs into VDJ? I only have a limited choice in the codec config section. I have many avi files that will not play video, just sound.
What is the correct codec setting/choice for playing avi, mpg, mpeg, mpg4?
