Hi,
I recently bought a new laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium and I have just finished moving all my programs and files over.
The problem is, Virtual DJ will not open!
When I first open it the "Auto Update" windows pops up which isn't a problem but after that it says,
"The controler has not been detected
Please plug the controler and start VirtualDJ again." (Those aren't my spelling mistakes that's what it says...)
I know the controller is plugged in because the lights are on and I can see both ends of the cable.
I have tried downloading the Driver Update for Vista but that didn't do anything!!!
I know that the problem isn't in Virtual DJ because the controller doesn't work in other programs. (Ableton Live, etc.)
I tried to open the "DJ Console Mixer" but I received another error message.
DJConsoleMixer - Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because HJDAPI.dll was not found
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I've re-installed it at least once since this problem and nothing has changed.
Do you think the problem was with the Installation Disc? Should I try re-installing again?
I really want to have this problem solved and any help is much appreciated...
PS: I see that people are getting their music played on the Virtual DJ radio
If I have some mixes that I think are good enough where should I send them???

hi there you need to install the controller as an administrator try these steps.

I am the only user on this computer so I have to have installed it as Administrator

On vista your only account isn't the administrator until you activate administrative access :
4. Go to control pannel > users > user groups add your acount to the administrator group
This is a new vista security feature which can cause all sorts of havoc for hardware/software installations.

Ok it says administrator under my account name now what? The problem isn't fixed........

ok now do a full complete uninstall , of the corrupted version.
Then install the latest console drivers from the hercules website.
Then install version 3.4.1 .
