Can someone help me by explaining how to hook up more than one amp to one mixing board. My subs have built in crossovers but I never tried hooking up two amps at once. I use the QSC PLX and MMX series and have JBL 12's and Cerwin Vega 15 subs. QSC PLX is a 3000 watt max bridged. RMX is rated at 2450.

There are diferent ways to hook up multiple amps.
1. cascade mode: I believe the QSC amps have inpunt and pass thru lines on the back, what you need to do, if your subs have xover for low freq. then just hook up your console to the first amp, then conect XLR cables from pass thru of that amp and hook it up to the input on the next amp and so on. You have to be sure the passthru line of your amps are not only high pass thru, that pass thru line has to be full rage so the low freq. on the subs can be set.
2. Using a xover: this is the safest and more versatile way for me, I can recomend the DBX 234 XL, it is a 3 way stereo xover and is not expensive ( arround $250.00 ) the steps to hook it up are very simple and logical, you have low, mid low, mid high inpunts and aoutputs on the Xvover, if you decide for this option, sned me an e-mail and I will explain step by step how you can hook it up.

I personally haven't seen any pass thru on the plx's......so easiest & cheapest way is to get some y's.
Are u goin straight outta your mixing board, pc or sound board??

Its all how u use it....alot of people choose to use high end equipment because they don't have much knowledge on how to use it....higher end equipment can handle much more of a beating....but u should never beat on any of your equipment.....thats where the knowledge part kicks in. Thats what it comes down to to. But dbx is great.....but your budget is what matters.

interesting.....because alot of them have diodes inside to prevent backflow.
