Must of the time to mix R&B music, we fix our attention not on the Bass (Boom) but on the Drums (Pack).
If there is an option to switch the Active Waveform Display in different mode like:
Bass (as it is today I think)
Drums
Cymbals
All
It will be much easier for us to synchronise the phase with the right kind sound.

If the beatgrid works as it should, you should be able to get the right 4/4 pattern from there.
