Yes I think so, It's how you support the team, how you answer peoples questions accuratly and promptly, welcoming people and contributing to discussions, helping at shows, creating skins, plugins etc.
Also in the early stages of development some people had some really great ideas, and alot of those ideas were used, so constructive feedback on the new features forum helps too.
I probably missed something.
But anyone can talk all day about crap, so the post count has no bearing on status unless you do good things here.

Post counts can be very misleading.
Some members post idle dribble just to gain status.
You can have a 15 year old who lives at his keyboard just typing away till his count gets to 3k, and now he's the pro in they eyes of a new member.
The basis for the stars is much better than just post count level status.
Then you have been members for years and have less than 400 posts, but every post has substance and brings information to the table.
People should recognise your name and who you are, not the stars under it.
There are lots of people here that assist users, it is obvious who they are.

It think it also has to do (and it look like) with the knowledge of every user and how accurate the informations he gives are. I prefer to read from a user that knows what he is talking about, even if he has a bad criticism for vdj, at the end this helps the development.
The subject on these forums has to do with a special kind of computer application, and people with years of (..analog) dj experience, people involved in production/sound enginnering, video (now) and also "open minded" people (to support the computer dj'ing) are important at these forums.
I think they help the software and development to go to the right direction when there are so many different voices ...

In my very short time on this forum, and purely my own personal veiws here .....but..........
Just to put all you boys and girls straight!................... size does matter, ................. the size of the person that is!
you can be the sharpest VDJ here but that does not mean a thing if you cant talk, respond, treat another user with repect and honesty!
i can safely say that EVERYONE here should have 5 stars under there name!! sure occasionaly some dont see eye to eye but show me one "perfect family" out there that does not quarrel occationally, and thats what we are, we are not like a familly, we ARE a familly.
from one side of this globe to the other there is probably not a community that gives, shares, cares, laughs, has fun,. and contributes as much as this one does!
hell there are posts where it looks like WW3 is about to break out, and just as quickly as the arguments start they are reminded as to why we are here, to do the things we love most, play music! and normality is reached again.
to EVERYONE here LICENCED or UN-LICIENCED that contribute to this familly , good and sometimes not so good, (ying and yang ) we got to have both to distinguish between the autstanding and the normal,
i salute you.
TO ALL i give you honourary 5 STARS for the good you have done fdor this family! be it only recognised in this conversation, but be content that you are all appreciated.
