What I think would make a really usefull effect would be a configurable delay plugin with 3 sliders....delay 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2 or 4 beats,feedback and a third for (high frequency) cutoff to simulate old tape echo units losing more high frequencies on each pass of the tape heads.....Alternatively writing a VST "wrapper " or making the plugin engine directly VST or Direct X plugin compatible...There are some truly amazing effects out there and many are free....
In the meantime I've just splashed out on a Red Sound XSFX unit which won at an e-bay auction £125 to enable me to mash up some beats in sync......
