I find it kind of annoying that when I'm mixing songs that I gotta crossfade both the program's fader and the fader on my mixer or else I hear the same song on both channels! Is there anyway to fix this or do I just stop using my mixer?

You can use the software mixer.
If you want to use an external mixer just leave the software crossfader at the center. I remember you that you need the full version to use an external mixer.
