VirtualDJ recently added support for LPD8. Thanks a ton for that! I had written a device file and a mapper file a few years ago to get the little guy working, but support out-of-the-box is always nice! :)
Having said that, the device file seems to have a bug or two, IMHO.
1) With the default LPD8 settings, the K1 knob on the LPD8 sends a <CC0> which is not mapped, it seems. The K2-K8 knobs get identified as Slider1-Slider7, and there's no Slider8.
2) In <PROG CHNG> mode, PAD5 and PAD6 are both mapped to <Page5> and PAD7 and 8 seem to be mapped to <PAGE6> and <PAGE7>.
Point 1 can be fixed by using the Akai LPD8 midi editor app to set the outputs of the knobs from <CC1> to <CC8> instead of <CC0> to <CC7>. There's no way to edit the midi output in PROG CHNG mode though, so it'll be good to have an official bugfix for both.
Not sure if VDJ accepts external contributions, but I'd be happy to try and create the device file xml with appropriate mappings, if that's usable. :)
