All controllers supported in 8.0 are still supported in 2023.

controllers are dead, program doesnt find them.
Supplier also said to me when i got them that they will only map to 8

If not even a simple midi device shows up in 2023, then it won't show up in any version of VDJ 8 either.
There's no difference in the controller detection between 8 and 2023
