Sorry I couldn’t see anything about this.
I have an external pad controller (subzero control pad 64).
My intention was to assign pads to different pad functions to avoid having to switch between menus.
For example pads 1-8 hot cues; 9-16 scratch Dna; 17-22 stems etc etc
Is this possible??
It seems I can only map the pads to be pad 1,, 2, 3 etc so the function still changes according to what’s selected in the pad menu

There are possible work-arounds.
1) Use "fixed" actions (basically remap the buttons with whatever your desired pad pages are mapped to do)
2) Use your own "special" pad pages (almost the same as above, but the remapping is done on the special pad pages instead of the controller itself)
3) Use a combination of modified pad pages with a remapped controller.
This is usually the way I do it.
I basically split the pads to sections of 16 pads each.
Then I remap the pads of those sections to work as pads 1-16 for decks 5,6,7 and 8.
Then I use special pad pages that I have scripted to do whatever I want on the right decks.
This method is the hardest from a setup point of view, but it's the one that will give you the most out of your controller and system.
Plus, it's easy to revert to factory default if you ever need to do so, within seconds.

Got you. I’ve switched to the novation command pads which are mapped and have blank templates for this.
