话题: VDJ Dumped, Yesterday; New Version Available Today ... Fixed?
VDJ 8.5.6541.0 suddenly dropped audio, spun the playing platter really fast, and a dialog popped up on the lower right that I had expired content and my cache would not be saved. I could not do anything with VDJ. When the spinning platter hit the end of the active (silent) tack, the application crashed.
. On relaunch, I saw a VDJ message that my cache was not saved and something about a license validation. My first gig in in over a year and a half, and I was having an anxiety attack. I was in the last hour of a parking lot car show. Luckily, the event coordinator took the opportunity to use the wireless mic to do raffle drawings... Yeah! I didn't need to plug in my cell phone and start a canned playlist!
. I can't remember the exact verbiage, but I assumed it was because I had just purchased into the iDJPool, Friday. I tethered my cell phone to the laptop and relaunched VDJ... Back in business, but I lost the playlist I was creating on-the-fly with no time to save. I hadn't needed the pool with the classic car show songs, so I don't know if I would have crashed if I had tethered my phone in the first place.
. So, I am going through the event logs, this morning (see below). Everything points to VDJ. I launch it to look at settings, and... a new update! BUILD 6613 (2021-08-29)... that is today! The DB restore issue might be what I experienced, but what was up with the expiring licenses??

An application crashing during use for a client is never cool, especially when it negatively impacts the the client who is paying one to provide a service that relies on it. But things happend, and we need to be prepared as best we can. But, is this 'build 6613' update the solution to my woes?

For support, this is the Application Event Log issue from my Windows 10 laptop (there were three informational events that followed):

It would be nice to know if the update was to the solution to my issue... or, if I need to make a system change that I didn't.

Is anyone still using the "PC Optimizer? It is from 2016, so I am wondering if it is still viable...
