how do i get my microphone to work on my mixtrack platinum fx ?

To hear the mic you need speakers connected to the controller, since the mic on the controller is not part of VirtualDJ.
Its a hardware only mic, that goes straight to master out of the mixer (and blends with the music from VirtualDJ).
And you can not control the mic in the software etc.
To record/broadcast such a mic, you need to add a record loopback, so that your computer (and VirtualDJ) can hear the mic output.
Basically an audio cable from the controller to a line-in at the computer.
Then add a "Record" entry in VirtualDJ sound settings, equal to this line-in.
