Only problem is with Virtual DJ 2020 ,Because same computer,same external hard drive but playing the same avi file with Virtual DJ 7 the file will play with out a problen

avi files can contain a great variation of formats etc... so just saying avi does not do much help.
Ideally if you can post the video so someone can look at that would be best.
If you can't do that, then install MediaInfo which is free. You can then right click on the problem video and select MediaInfo. It will give you a lot of information that will give someone who knows what they are looking a clue to the problem. You can cut and paste the information from MediaInfo here.
