Just to add my two cents as well, I would love this feature. My need for it is slightly different, so I'll explain.
I run Karaoke shows every week. I don't want to have the same base playlist I run off of every week so I have a big mixture of music running through the night between singers. Essentially what I do is have a rotation of Playlists. One week I may play Playlist A or Playlist B, the next week may be Playlist E. I have a large mix of music that plays well together as the night goes on and since it's one night a week I can go two months without playing the same playlist. When I am building new playlists, I'd like to be able to search a song and see what Playlists it may already be tied to so I don't have it in multiple Playlists.
like I said, I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, but this is definitely a feature I would appreciate and just wanted to give insight from my position on why it would be useful.

Note that only Virtual Folders in the root are searched. If they are placed in other folders on your computer, VirtualDJ will indeed not find them.

Filter Folders dont include any paths, they are dynamic containers based on the given criteria , so dont think it's possible (or even makes sense) to include here.

Maybe have the result saved as a virtual/temporary "playlist" then open it as a folder in browser

As djdad says, filter folders are not really folders. They're filters. They don't contain anything.
They work "live" when you click on them and filter based on the specified criteria.

Hey, thats great! Thanks for integration to VDJ!
I like it, when i double click the playlist in the search window, the browser jumps into this playlist or virtual folder. Great!
But one idea for improvement: make the column adjustable in width. If the name of the playlist is to long, i can not read it completely
