At last, after all these years of using VDJ I think I just had a crash ... even got a little message box on screen after VDJ closed by itself.
after restarting the programm it's running stable now

Doesn't sound like VDJ caused the crash. Usually with a VDJ crash the software restarts by itself and continues from where it was.
The fact that you say, you restarted the software indicates that something else on your machine forced VDJ to close. Possibly a driver error or something.
Doesn't look like there is a crash report either on our end, which would also indicate something else causing the crash.

When I go into Settings, Interface, and choose 'Get More' under GUI skins, VDJ crashes (restarts).
