So, the question is:
Does VDJ benefit using CPU's with high single thread performance ratings?
This is for audio only use and analyzing does not need to take into account.
Many applications can split the tasks over various cores to share load, and I wonder if this is the case with VDJ also.
If going from a 2-core to a 4-core CPU with indentical single thread ratings, would that increase VDJ performance / MIDI communication and so on ?

Interface, audio, analyzing, folder browsing all happens on different threads, so yes, you would benefit from a 4-core vs a similar 2-core cpu.

Quad core cpu's at comparable clock speeds to dual core cpu's perform much, much better. However often a hidden benefit of moving up the CPU ladder is the superior onboard graphics. Intel uses a range of onboard graphics chips!
I would recommend using onboard graphics due to the fantastic reliability and competitive cost of the Intel products. We do not need top of the range gaming machines...but if anyone has one to sell cheap I'm in the market!
