The new Mac OS X update came out today, El Capitatn 10.11.6
What does senior staff recommend? Should we wait before updating? Or would it be ok given it's not a major update...?

We always suggest to wait a few weeks and/or ask your hardware manufacturer as well.
Don't forget the issues with drivers incompatibility when El Capitan first rolled out. VirtualDj worked with El Capitan perfectly from the very first date. However several hardware controllers had issues and their manufacturers had to update their MAC OS X drivers.
