Hi,
VirtualDJ 8 crashes when CoolSoft VirtualMIDISynth is installed on the same PC.
VirtualMIDISynth is a software MIDI synthesizer implemented as a Windows multimedia user driver, accessible as a standard MIDI Out device.
It can be used by Midi Karaoke applications like Karafun player 2 or Van Basco. VirtualDJ doesn't use it at all since .kar and .mid files can not be played by VirtualDJ.
At VirtualDJ start, this regisrty key is parsed and VirtualMIDISynth.dll is launched by VirtualDJ.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32]
"midi1"="VirtualMIDISynth\\VirtualMIDISynth.dll"
This dll is not used by VirtualDJ and stays opened, after a few minutes VirtualDJ crashes.
My solution :
Disable this registry key before virtualDJ launches then enable it back to make it available for other applications.
