OK VDJ 8 latest build on a VMS 4. Set up remix points in POI and named each one. I get out of POI and load the song on a deck and go to sampler --> {Remix Mode} and there are no remix points and even when trying to hit pads (with mouse) they simply don't work.
Is there a way around this? Is this a known issue?

Did you have the correct deck selected?
Not trying to be patronising, I tried to recreate the problem and only just myself realised that Remix points only show for the selected deck.
I really don't get remix points all they are, are hotcues that are a pain to set up.

I think I found the issue...for some reason some tracks the remix points simply are not showing up even if I delete all of them and then place them again in the POI editor. It is working for some songs tho so that's a good thing.
Remix points are great for use live to essentially remix a song live. It works best for EDM and dance music. or when using an acapella version over sampled synth and a drum layer.
