话题: New VDJscript verb delay

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Please considering adding a VDJscript verb, ‘delay’ (or similar) that allows actions to be delayed.

An example of how this would be used is to turn the volume down on the active deck to emphasize a sample, and then turn it back up after the sample plays. This is along the same lines of using a compressor and sidecar to compress the main audio when someone is live on the mic.

Here is a description of what occurs without a delay verb.

deck active volume 50% & sampler 1 play & deck active volume 100%

When this script is attempted the volume on the active deck goes to 50%, the sample starts to play, and then the volume on the active deck immediately goes to 100% while the sample is still playing.

With a delay verb this may be possible…

deck active volume 50% & sampler 1 play & delay 200ms & deck active volume 100%

The delay is set long enough to prevent the volume from immediately going back to 100%.

Thank you for considering this request and your time.

It's possible in djdecks to automate a little so hopefully it will be included in VDJ8. Another option is to request one of the plugin creators to make a sidechain by attaching the volume to the VU meter and making your mic volume push down the volume of the playing track.
