Hello, I had a few questions....
My partner has Final Scratch 2 & Traktor DJ Studio 2.6
He paid around $800...

I figured I can get Virtual DJ & a Maya 44 USB for like $300....

However, my main concern is using my Denon DND6000's with regular cds also.
I know how Final Scratch 2 has a switch were you can disable the timecode & use regular cds & it goes straight to your mixer.... now is there anyway to do this on Virtual DJ?

What kind of card would do this & can anybody show me a tutorial on how to do this!
oh & finally, how well do the virtual dj timecodes work on cd players compared w/ final scratch 2.6 & Rane Serato Scratch Live?

Thx!

You can still use your turntables to play real vinyls.

If you're using an ASIO soundcard, you just have to use the "bypass" mode (configure a keyboard shortcut for this action, or use a skin displaying a bypass button).

I guess I answered one of my questions...

however, how does it work with the dnd6000?

has anybody tried it!?!

You can also use Timecode CD. It works too in ASIO mode.
I don'y use any TC vinyl or CD but I know it works ... like real vinyls or CD.
The config is not complicated but you have to use a soundcard with low latency.

If you look in the blogs and search Dams you will find a blog with a picture showing how to plug the TCV (same as TCCDs) to the mixtable and to VDJ without using the bypass mode.

so in otherwords the answer is yes...

i do the same thing & use it as a backup even though i never have to use it as that because it doesn't crash.

its not really a switch although you could buy alittle junction box and use it like one. you just split the signal. send one to the computer and one to the mixer...

take a look at Dams post and youll see how to do it

DAM's blog has the basic idea but his is for TCV where you have 2 line and 2 phono inputs. CD players can't use the phono inputs so you need to use 4 line inputs.

Do what Technical DJ did, he ran a Y splitter out of his denon 3000's sent one set to the maya 44 for time code and the other set to his channel 3-4 inputs for when he wants to play regular cd's.

I sort of did the same thing with my denon 5000's except I sent the alpha track outputs to my 3-4 mixer inputs. For time code I use channels 1-2 and regular cd's 3-4.

Thanks, I guess if switch button on Virtual DJ won't work, then the splitter would do...
I think I'm going to go this route & buy Virtual DJ & The Maya 44 USB....

Is there any other Sound Card I Should consider???

thx!

If it's for two TCVs or TCCDs i don't think any other soundcard with as good quality/price ratio!

Anyway there aren't much soundcards with two line-in and two line-out.

There is an other audiotrak soundcard the maya44pci mkII. It has a better latency but can only be used in one computer
