Hi all. would first like to say im a newbie!! Hello to you all on this great site. Im looking into the world of computer dj'ing as new technology has advanced from my technics!!! My question may well be in spme threads but thought i would ask whislt reading through them. First of all i would like to hear what you guys think i need for a laptop in the way of what processor and speed and ram size etc etc. Second i would like to hear what controller is the best on the market as well as the best for value?? Obviously will be running virtual dj on a laptop i intend to buy along with a controller, this for use in the mobile scene as well as small/ish fun bars. Any help from you all would be so appreciated and thaks in advance.

first of all mate better get license as cracked versions will not do as you hope effects ect.also i use the hercules rmx dell laptop 4gb ram dual core intel processor 250gb hd.i took to long getting my vdj license but the best move i ever made.as usual its the djs choice of equipment and what you want to do.i use my vdj for audio some video not much and also karaoke and its a gift work is fun and thsnks to vdj easy lol.there are threads on pcs ect already maybe some more ideas there,join us soon you wont regret it mate

the minimum specs are on the website, but IMO any modern laptop should be fine as long as;

there is enough RAM (min 2gb IMO)
the videocard has it's own RAM and so does not share with system

yeah get licensed first , next get yer shots .....

no matter what barfbox you buy at the store , it's not ready for primetime .........when you get it home , it's gonna need some tweaks , some easy , some complex .....lotsa help for that here at the site

you should get minimum 2gig ram for xp , also i advise 3 gig for vista , many advise a 32 bit flavor of vista due to driver issues / support for devices in 64 bit renditions .....

nobody can tell you anything about controllers other than what they do with theres ..... the one you really like is the best one for you .....!!??

same thing with soundcards and other items , it gets very subjective .....

unless i say it ,then it's just truth un varnished ......

Hi, if you've got a pair of technics and a mixer, why not look at "numark virtual vinyl"?

Numark have licensed virtual dj and called it "cue". it comes with the soundcard, special timecode records and a full professional version of the software

You get the complete package for only £40 more than what you would pay for VirtualDJ only, (going on current excharge rates). Numark Virtual Vinyl is £243 from this site plus free P&P, bargin if you ask me.

You still be able to download the plugins and skins from the site too.
