Hi Guys,
Is the Pioneer SEP-C1 simply the rack mounted controller for the Pioneer MEP-7000?

If so, when independent of the MEP-7000, will it work as well with VDJ?

Yes, the SEP-C1 will work purely as a midi controller for VDJ. Bear in mind it does NOT have a sound card, you need to MEP base unit to provide that or use an external one.

VDJ also does not take full advantage of the beautiful screen so it's a bit of a waste just using it on it's own.

The Denon HC-4500 is far cheaper than the SEP-C1, has a built in sound card and is more functional with VDJ due to the extra buttons. I really like the look of the SEP-C1 but the price and lack of sound card rule it out for me!

hi all,
i just bought 2 cdj 400-k's and a djm 700, i hooked it all up to vdj.
no i have a small problem, when i use the right deck the right side of vdj responds but i get my sound from channel 1 on the djm 700.
and when i use the left deck, vdj responds on the lieft side but i get my audio from channel 2.
i connected the left deck to channel on and the right deck to channel 2. so basicly vdj turns them aroud.
pressing the esc button will only change the cdj from deck a to b but not the sound.
i can change this problem by selecting a external mixer with the settings " left channel 3/4 and right channel 1/2"
i can also select a 3 line mixer. if i do that the sound comes from the correct channel.
i can;t seem to change it so the left channel will be 1/2 and the right one will be 3/4.
changing the midi channel in the cdj will not solve this problem.

so in short how can i change the soundcard from channel 1/2 to 3/4 and vise versa

What OS are you using ?
 
i am using a 32 bit version of windows 7.
i have tried changing the default cdj soundcard, this had no effect in vdj, it did in pioneer djs.
 
well, it solved itself,
for some reason channel 1/2 is now the left deck and 3/4 the right deck.
i didn't make any changes myself. i don't hope it switches by itself from time to time, but i'll have to see.
 
hey guys,

still need some help with my setup. Running CDJ 400's and a Numark DXM09. Everything plays fine and loud when I am using CD's in the CDJ, but when I use Virtual DJ and the CDJ's together in USB mode, my sound level drops substantially.

I am using 320's of mp3s. I am not sure how to fix it. I have to turn my speakers up quite a bit to get a decent volume level.

Check the sound level of the 2 cdj 400 souncard on your OS .

If you have again this issue , turn off the 2 cdj 400 , and first turn on the left cdj , wait few moments during OS find it , then turn on the right one.

I'm a Mobile DJ and like to use my set as Midi Controller...
I just bought my Macbook Pro to switch myself from PC to Mac...
I'm very new with Mac, so i need you guys to help me out on this...

Here is my set:
2x Pioneer CDJ 400
Korg Zero 4 Live mixer
Macbook Pro 13" (2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor/ 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM)
Virtual DJ Pro 6.0.7 for Mac user

I did everything as in orders like...
Downloaded legally (from my friend) the VDJ software for Mac, fyi...i don't like illegal software or crack stuff!
I plug in my two CDJs to 2 USB that Mac has and use my Korg mixer as an external mixer...
I run the Virtual DJ program...
I check my config: Input (None), Outputs (External Mixer), Soundcard (2Cards=CDJ 400+CDJ 400)

Everything looks fine when i run the program and my CDJ, but the sound output is only coming out from one channel in my external mixer which is channel one?!
I've tried to do Aggregate Device too on Mac but it seemed it's not working at all and still coming out in one channel?!

MY big Q is...how can i split the sound that come out from my CDJ+VDJ into two channel like normaly (channel 1 & 2)?
Would you mind to explain to me in details, step by step how to do it bcause I've tried to google and follow all the instructions or videos but still it's not working too...
Did I do my VDJ Config wrongly? If so...would you help me to set it up?!
Do i need an external soundcard like Audio 4 just to resolve this problem?!
I'm ver happy if you guys can guide me step by step, link by link or video by video...

Downloaded and shared ILLEGALLY by your friend ... please have your friend read our End User License Agreement ... you are illegally now using the software. Please make a purchase of your own if you intent to continue using it.

Hi, we are trying to use two CDJ 900's with Virtual DJ using the trial version 6.07. When the pfl for the left deck in VDJ is selected only the left cdj works which is correct however when you press the play button on the cdj it starts playing both left and right decks in VDJ.

If you switch the pfl to the right deck exactly the same thing happens. We've tried various settings in the config file, using ASIO drivers or selecting 2 cards and 1 stick then using each cdj as a separate sound card.

When selecting a song using the button on the cdj it loads it into the opposite cdj.

We're completely stumped, hopefully you'll be able to point out something blatantly obvious we've missed.
 
We've just figured out the problem, we had hid and midi selected. Unticked midi and restarted and all is good.....hoorah.
 
That should not of mattered as there isn't anything defined or mapped for MIDI with any Pioneer products. Put the check back on MIDI and see if the problem comes back. If not, then it is just the restart of VirtualDJ that solved your problem as it was only seeing 1 unit and not both.

not sure how to do this?

Also how would the level of sound be different for a CD and then via VDJ?
 
1)In the configuration panel check the volume level of all the souncard.

2) when cdj 400 are connect to a pc , the pc with the soundcard driver work like a mixer so if the volume level is on 80% for example the volume on out of cdj will be less important than if the cdj 400 isn't connect to a pc.

if you put every sound level to 100% in the sound configuration panel for all sound device, there will not have any difference between cdj 400 with vdj and cd mode.
 
Hi

Ive hooked my cdj 2000's up to VDj for the first time in a while and Im impressed with the platter response and Im going to give it another go but have a few questions.
I want to map the 4 beat loop button on the cdj but I cant get it to recognise it. And also my reverse button isnt mapped and when I mapped it myself I have to click it back and forward twice to get it to stop and start the reverse.

Any help would be great..

Use the reset to default option (bottom left button) on the mapper page with the CDJ-2000 selected in the drop-down list to reset the mapping to the defaults.

Does the REV/FWD switch work now?

And the 4 Beat Loop button does it also now work?
