Pioneer - DDJ-SX3 - Layout - Pads

Press the SAMPLER button to set the PADs to Sampler mode (Led will be lit in red color).

Each one of the 8 pads triggers a sample from the selected Sampler Bank of VirtualDJ. If a bank has less than 9 samples, both sides of the DDJ-SX3 will control the same samples. If a bank has more than 8 samples, the left side of the DDJ-SX3 will control samples 1 to 8 and the right side samples 9 to 16. The PAD will be lit if a sample slot is loaded and will blink if triggered.
Press the pads to trigger a sample. Depending on the selected trigger Pad mode, use SHIFT and the same pads to stop the sample.

Press and hold the SAMPLER button for more than 1 second to set the PADs to Sampler Velocity mode (Led will be lit in orange color).
When this mode is selected, the same Sampler Pads page will be displayed and used from VirtualDJ, and the Pads will have the same functionality as in Sampler Mode. The difference is that the Samples will play at a volume designated by the strength that the Pad is pushed (Velocity).
You can choose from 2 kind of Velocity, (Normal and After Touch) from the unit's Settings (read Pioneer's manual) along with the curve of the Velocity.

The Velocity mode (if enabled with long press of the Sampler Pad mode button) will be remembered and the Sampler button mode will offer Sampler Velocity mode with a normal press. Repeat the procedure so that the same button offer the non-Velocity mode CueLoop
