I have the following:
Dell Inspiron E1505
Maya44 USB
2 Denon DNS3000
A Vestax PMC-05 Pro
The laptop is used just for DJing, nothing else.
I just bought the Maya (upgraded from a Hercules MK2) and i experience lag when I scratch. Also, if I set the latency too low, the music become distorted. However, if I set the latency up a little higher, the music is fine, but scratching is horrible. So it looks like I can only get one or the either. I've tried multiple setups (found on the forums and blogs) and none of them work. Is this because of my computer? Or am I doing something wrong? I downloaded the timecoded cd's off of the website (pro version). Did I burn them wrong?
Any help from mods or anyone else would be much appreciated. Thanks!

With the Maya, I would use fastest performance and set latency to "auto" and untick safe mode and overclock.
