Topic: freezing up!

Hello All,After playing with the demo version for two weeks I recently purchased virtual dj pro.My problem is that the program is sluggish, by that I mean whenever i click a song from the browser the program momentarily locks up, by that i mean as soon an mp3 or mpeg is highlighted the screen freezes and I get the dreaded hourglass! although the audio seems unaffected the mpegs video freeze up. This freezing varies from file to file sometimes it's a fraction of a second but some files freeze up the screen for up to four seconds. None of this happened with the demo, I've changed no settings on the computer,which is running an intel cor duo cpu @2.33ghz E6550 with 2gbs of ram, a Gigaport AG for sound, and a NVIDIA XFX video card. The program has quit on me several times (I get a message that virtual dj has encountered a problem and has to close) this also never happened with the demo! I've tried changing settings on the program and nothing seems to help. What I don't understand is why everything was fine with the demo(trial version) and the real version I paid for is having problems.If anyone out there has any advice on what I should do it would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Leo

are you using Vista ?? please tell us your settings in options , performance and video .......

also have you changed your system in any way ?
 
I'm using windows XP professional version 2002. I changed nothing
 
did you recurse your folders.
 

Hi Imperial Showgirls,

I'm having mysterious freezes aswell, with audio just stopping. All I can say is write a ticket out and send it to the team. Dj cyder (a teamer) is working on my issue. They will advice you on what settings to try.

I'm in the process of try some new settings, so I'll see what Friday and Saturday night brings and I'll report back.
 
AS far as the settings; sound card is set with safe mode, overclock checked, optimized for quality, enhanced algorithm checked, filter size 11, master tempo fast. The video output is activated, hardware acceleration is also activated. As far as recursing my files I don't know what that means

Also how many processes do you have running? Turn off your anti-virus, and your wireless card (if it is a lap top). And get back to us I bet things will work better after making these changes.
 
I ran the tool, things got a whole lot better, not like before(with the demo) but much better, then I look over a few minutes later and the computer shut itself down! After starting the computer back up.I ran the program and it's back to the way it was before! tried shutting it down and running the plug in but no luck now. It worked for a minute! I guess it's back to the drawing board!?!
 
Sounds like you have a system problem of some sort. Search and read Skyfxl's blog.
