Topic: SOME FILES SHOW UP WITH ERROR CANNOT BE PLAYED

Is there anyone out there that can tell me why some MP3 files will not play thru the desk. When loaded either in a playlist of straight from the browser they show in either of the decks that they are not valid and unplayable. I have checked pathways for the files, all correct, checked ID3 tags, all correct and tested them with a different player directly from the index and they work fine. Just VDJ has an issue with these files....anyone have ideas about this as I am desperate to get up and running efficiently and quickly as possible.....thanks

i've noticed this myself VDJ will refuse to analyse play or delete these files , but Traktor has no problem with them ??
 
what version do you use?

where did these files come from
 
I noticed this as well with one file, it played OK in earlier revisions, but got that error in 5.0r5. I can't remember if 5.0r4 did it or not though...
 
I also have some files that do the same thing... They just sit in my unanalysed folder that pickes up music that's been changed for whatever reason.
 
Oh dear, still the same problem as with the cdg decoder with certain zipped karaoke files, now it seems they have now messed the mp3 decoder up as well. this was discussed with one of the coders `dj cell` ages ago and never addressed. Again all files with error played fine in other packages like sax and dotty and pc dj but not vdj. C`mon guys please fix this.....!!!!
 
Hi...thanks for your messages. The version I am using is the latest demo download that is available from this site. My files have come from various collections and CDs that I own. I have tried a number of different suggested methods to get the files to read but to no avail. I am hesitant to purchase a full version prior to having complete confidence that it works completely with my collection of music. In teresting the CDG aspect has been mentioned because I cant even get this working at all. It will not read CDG files (with their MP3 pair) zipped or unzipped. Any body got any suggestions on the issues I am having.
 
Also noticed this years ago and is one of the reasons I can't use VDJ in my karaoke shows. A good percentage of my ziped karaoke files will show "error" when trying to play in VDJ... any and all versions. But will play fine in Swift Elite, Sax & Dotty ect...

It would be great if this issue was fixed, I would love to use VDJ as my only tool.
