Have just changed the CBG on about a hundred of my tracks, which are on the computer HD. I was wondering due to the issue of me taking them off to save space, as i already have them on a external, whether or not if i delete the music files on the computer will VDJ still hold each tracks information, whatever it is called, Virtual dj file or whatever??
Thanks, just dont want to do the Bpm anchor thing so many times.\ again

Next time, I would recommend you move them to your external first, then tweak the files in VirtualDJ using the file on the External so that way the information is stored to the drive that the file is on.
Do you plan to copy these files back to your computer HD before you play them? And do you plan to copy them to the very exact location each time?

The files that are on the computer wont be copied anywhere, they will be deleted, after that i will use the files from my external for virtual dj, but if i delete the ones from my computer i wil lose all the informatoin from the VDJ file wont I? '
That why i was wondering if i can somehow save the VDJ files and let them work with the external HD music files.... (which are exactly the same ones on the HD but i copied so i wouldnt have to lug the external around, but now the PC is slowing up so need to)

The database files contain the information changes. If you do the work on you internal drive then the changes are stored in that database. If you move the file to external and delete the file on the internal then the changes stay on the internal's database. If you want the data from the internal harddrives database to MOVE to the external, then you must MOVE or COPY the file using VirtualDJ. This is the ONLY way you can move the data correctly.

From the browser in VirtualDJ, you can right click on a file or selection of files and chose the File Operations option. There is a Move to... and Copy to... option.

When you say when you do the changes on the internal dirve they are stored in the internals database, i know there is a reason for this i just cant figure it out why cant you just move the database file/s and have Virtual dj work from that?
Iam missing something here.

Can I rename the database file so it corresponds with the external drive?
Or after virtual dj has created a database file for the external, move all the information into that database file from the one corresponding with the old music files?
