由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I have a 3rd party ASIO driver for my soundcard (till i can afford the Maya 44 anyhow) and everytime I try to use it, i get "Error in ASIO driver"

Now, this happens with both my Audigy's manufactures ASIO drivers, and the third party ones i've tried.. =S

*confused* i read in another post it doesn't matter.. or is this still something the team are working on?

Asio drivers always need "exclusive" connection between
software and hardware.
There are limitations :
Only one asio driver at the time.
Not other drivers involved at the same time, lets say
different drivers or type of drivers for input and output.
So usually you cannot mix wdm and asio drivers in an application.
Virtual dj has no problems, but it just allow such combinations
without warnings and then it gives Asio errors.
Try to follow these rules and you will get no errors.

What asio driver you use ?
Try the free asio4all driver (www.asio4all.com)
This driver work very well with many on-board cards, and
usb. I made beta testing for this driver in an earlier state
and tested it with a maya EX usb - it works very well
1,5 ms latency ...

well i tried it out, ignoring the error, and now i get a reapeating sound when i stop the song, say i play it for a bit, then stop, it will play the last second or so over and over..

Works with the TC vinyls tho :)

Dont "ignore" the error, if Vdj report an error then there is
an error. Try to setup without this error message.
What asio drivers are you using ?
Is there a control panel for them ?
Try another asio application to access it if it is not possible
from within vdj.
I think v. 2.05 has this option in the new low latency mode
(audio setup) (but i didnt tested yet with an asio card)
See is there is any sample rate / clock option.
Set 44k if possible
See if there is a "clock source" option : internal/external
Set to external if it is for a usb card.
These are general rules, give us more details about :
system /soundcard / drivers

I read your post again,
audigy cards are "locked" to 48K, no way to change this.
Also no way to change "clock source" it will be always
"internal". These cards are based to the emu 10k[x] chip
and these are limitations of this chip.
I believe you are using the kxproject drivers.
They can give you less latency but not different behaviour.
Save money for a better soundcard.

I was using Steinbergs drivers as part of the Cubase package..

I'm going to get the Maya 44 for my laptop, which will solve that problem hopefully, but i wont be using it on my desktop machine anymore.. so there shouldnt be a problem =D

Anyway.. off to go play :)

Thanks for the help!

I bought the Maya 44 usb 2 days ago !
Yes it is very good especially with the new asio-low latency mode (2.05)
The steinberg drivers are not "real" asio but emulated direct x
to asio drivers latency is also high with them.
