I read the new user guide for 5.0 that CStoll made but couldn't find in there or in any thread here specifically how to convert the 4.3 database to 5.0.
Thanks for the instructions. I'd certainly like to give it a try instead of having to reanalyze all files.

VDJ converts the Database for you -- On page three, I tell you have your system setup with external harddrives like you would for a gig. Install V5 and after the first launch let it sit while it creates the DB.
There are couple of other posts on here that discuss some follow-up or forced recreation if the first time it doesn't go well. So look through or search the forum for those threads -- just don't know which ones they are right now.

ahhh yes I remember that in the 18 page manual. I didn't quiet "get it" though.
so have my rename my 4.3 to -old.exe and then run the install for 5.0 with the external plugged in and it should do its magic right?

Yeah you got it!
'95 he was just dreaming of being known as phenomenon - that wasn't until late '96 early '97.
