what do i need to know about writing a mapper. is there a web site that i can learn from ive read what the sdk says and its over my head. what about the software to make it, what is it and where to get it from. and then again maybe i shoud just leave it to the pros who know what there doing and not mess with whats out there but its all about bettering my self and skills so any advisement would be help full.
ps jpboggis mapper rocks but theres a few things that i would change to suit my style and i dont need all the other cool stuff as it would just confuse me.

well you would need to be skilled in computer programming
the console sdk is here

and is the main bit of what you need
and a copy of dev c or another compiler to compile your code
the creators of mappers are very clever people :) with alot of experiance in this
