Hi,
I just recently started using Numark Cue software.
I am just getting started at ripping my CD collection to mp3.
I have been told that encoding my cd's with variable bit rate is the better way to do it for good sound quality.
I am using the Lame codec 3.98a11 in the program CDEX.
I have it set up to use the --alt-preset standard encoding.
Is this a good way to do this and also will Numark Cue have any problems playing my mp3 files encoded like this?

that's my encoding weapon of choice... I use vbr 220... you'll see that when it needs to, it will encode even higher than 320... I find I get the crispiest tracks this way...
VDJ plays them fine!
