话题: Crackles from EQ Faders

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I have problem with crakles and pops whenever I use the EQ-fader controls.

I have tried all the recommended PC optimizations and fixes I found in the forums:

1) setting system performance settings- visual effects off, virtual memory, processor scheduling, memory usage
2) updating BIOS, directX, audio drivers
3) removing unnecessary start-up services and programs- including networking and virus scan, firewall, spyware cleaning tools, etc.
4) Disabling all unused hardware - modem, wireless network,network card,firewire adapter,SD controller
5) Performing disc service - defrag and clean-up
6) trying various sound cards - on-board SigmaTel C-major, Echo Indigo DJ PCMCIA, M-Audio Connectiv USB (on-board audio disabled when using add-on cards)
7) Tried all possible combinations under 'Performances' tab for latency buffer (including auto), safe mode, overclock while all others items as set by default 'Fastest' settings.
8) Tried all available buffer sizes for ASIO configurations for Echo and M-Audio sound cards

My system is a Dell Inspiron 6000 with Pentium M 1.6 GHZ with 1GB ram, running Windows XP home ed. and 5400 rpm HDD.

I am running VDJ version 4.2r1.

Anyone have any suggestions that I have not tried?

I have the very same problem. I have set hot keys for various crossfader & upfader functions, which eliminated the problem, so I think it might have something to do with the mouse pointer. It's kind of a pain though, and I need to figure out something for EQ crossfaders.

Untick the option "safe mode"

Is your mouse PS2 or USB?? If it is USB it may be sharing an IRQ.

USB. That may be the problem. Ironically, if I set the options for bbetter quality I get WORSE quality. Running at the second level preeset works best for me. The hot key solution has proved to be the best answer. I deleted the old Space Bar hot key and made it a crossfader. I also set Z as an EQ fader for one or more EQ sliders (depending on what I want to do). Since I have a habbit of hitting the key to the beat, I have figured out the numbers required to get the fader to move all the way accross in 32 beats (+/- 127) or 16 beats (+/- 254).

Try a PS2 mouse if you can and let me know if that was it.
