some one complained about screen savers loading and crashing the program my comment is relating to that.

From memory Virtual DJ disables screensaver and monitor turn off when you load it. It sounds like the system is changing the default screen, like pressing FN and F8 (CRT/LCD).
You mentioned the audio kept going, why did the club manager go nuts if the audio kept going, only the screens went blank. I don't think my night manager would notice, unless its stayed off for 20 minutes or so!
Just to confirm, you don't have any special screen saver programmes installed, like virtual aquarium ect. Some of these will try to force the screen into screensaver mode, fighting against Virtual DJ, trying to keep it's screen up.
This could also be a video overlay problem in your video driver if you are using a skin that has video previews in it for the DJ. As from memory most video cards only support ONE hardware rendered window (IE you TV out port to the club screens) the DJ's video preview windows would then be software rendered. IE processed by your main CPU, not the video card.
Try playing at home with a skin that has no DJ video previews on it (IE a no video skin, and turn on auto transition before you load it!). Play MPEGs or AVIs for a hour or so and see if it happens then? Play just like you do at the club, mixing video into video, making sure that the music, and the "Club screens" (Your bedroom TV!) is always playing a video. Its a long shot but it may point you in a good direction.
Another idea, try runing Windows media player for a hour, like a movie or something, pref with video sent to your tv, see if the same thing happens then too.

VIDEO MIXING QUESTION: I have a Sony Vaio NOTEBOOK Intel Pentium 4 Mobile Processor @ 3.06 Ghz. NOW the Maximum RAM upgrade is 1 Gig.
It is slow when it comes to the video mixing. Anything I can do to tweak it besides a memory upgrade? I have Virtual DJ Pro 4.2. Should I downgrade? Should I not use it with the Hercules mixing hardware? Should i upgrade to Vista? Will that make it run better? Replace the internal hard drive (it's at 80 gigs)
Also my computer has a DV Input for a video camera. So I have the camera hooked in to the computer via DV Input. I go in to My Computer double click my camera and see the LIVE image fine. But in Virtual is very distored.
Any advice anyone?

how large is ur graphics card?
is it shared?
vista buisness and ultimate , helps shared cards improve alot
check your external monitor resoultion if it is to large or 2 small the video will be out of proportion and distort

It comes with ATI Raedon Graphics card.
As far as the resolution ... It's distorted both on the notebook screen AND i have it going out to a TV or Projector.

Hmm... Perplexing. Two laptops - same symptom? What is common between the installs besides vDJ?
Are you perhaps using a different skin to standard?
Are you maybe using the same sonique plugins on both PCs?
Is there a particular video file or set of video files that seem to trigger the problem?
Did you copy over plugin files from one install to another?
How are you geting video out to your monitors? Maybe using an interface box to translate xVGA to S-Video or anything like that?

Sony Vaio (the one I have) Notebook has 2 video outs... it has the VGA Out and it has a stantord Video Out.
I use the video out.
Is it not recommended to use a DV Interface with Virtual DJ? You have to use a normal web cam?

Hi,
Just a reminder about the problem. I re-installed Windows and the problem seems to have gone away,
did a 4 hour set last night and the screen didn't go blank once .

Thanks for let us know how this problem be fixed. Many times you got a blank or blue or black screen on Windows is because of Memory RAM (it's defective or not wroking good) or drivers problem (the device isn't working because of corrupted drivers..)

They always correct me when I try to, so stick with 4.2 and cross your fingers at the gigs?

Vinnie I assume it was a fresh install and not the back up discs?? This seems to be the norm when it comes to issues with systems 9 times out of 10 that fresh install along with system tweaks makes VDJ and hell the rest of your computer run like a champ. Good to hear you got the issues taken care of.
