Hi all
I usually use VDJ for mixing trance house you know basic beat matching with long transitions and I dont use the samplers (samples) that much just simple touches. the problem is now I really need to use the sampler which im facing a lot of trouble using now .
I dont like the sampler to come over my sound.
if im going to be using it alot.I prefer it to be in a separate channel so u can add effects to it ,get more control of the vol. u know.
I have a 4-channel mixer which hocked to it VDJ 2-channels and 1-channel for the cd player and I used to plug on the 4th channel the sampler of VDJ (V.3.4)
Now in the v.4 the sound is more richer I give you that and im loving it with 4.1 option no clicks pops whats so ever its really great but :
1-* when I choose in the soundcard option for my onboard soundcard 3-line mixer ,and go to the sound card and set it up to 6.1 or above its all the same.
the sound starts to get I don’t know how to describe it disordered ,no sound ,robots I dont know what to call it :)
2-** tried hocking up another sound card so I can use the 2 cards option same thing
NOTE: When I swap to the other sound card and used the 4.1 option it works no problem I go and choose the 3 line mixer…. same issue comes back !!??!!
Read in the forms that u need to tray the various options in the performance tab did that .didnt work out sometimes making the sound more worse !?! did some updates to the windows didn’t work :(
I don’t use any inputs to VDJ (TCV or TCCD) just the DAC-3
My setup
XP pro sp2 with Latest updates
3.2g P Dual core
2 Gig ddr2 ram
256mb Nvidia G.card
* Giga byte Motherbord GA-8I945P Pro Which I use the inboard sound card the (8 channel Intel High Definition Audio Realtek Azalia audio chip)
** The additional sound card that I used is the Sound Blaster audigy PCI

lower your proformance tab ensure both tick boxes are unticked
and then choose "autolatency"
what happens now :)?

Did you try 4.2r1 ? the latest version
Distorted sound after a while on advanced soundcard setup, was an issue at earlier versions...
Also, the solution is to INCREASE latency, until its gone...
(you can also turn on safemode to test...and overclock if its a laptop)

Where do you find the :"Autolatency"? Is it a box to check or uncheck?

I have tihis issue too. Now heres the catch, I DID have 6.1 mode working on my last install, had been using it for the past 6 months with a Terretec Aureon 5.1 card set with 1/2 left, 3/4 sampler, and 5/6 on right deck. Now after a reinstall, all set up the same, this mode does not work. I get buzzy bee static on left deck, buzzy bee chipmunks on right, and sampler just sounds broken up.
I've played with the performance just for a giggle (I do have it set the same way as I did before) and the drivers are all the same, the main difference is that I have not installed all the versions as they came out this time, just 4.0, the 4.2r after.
System is a Inspiron 5150 3.2HT 120GB hdd, 1.25GB ram.
I even tried installing the drivers this time (I didnt need them on the first install) and tried playing with the speaker selection in controlpanel/sound, and no go there either. I really need all 6 channels as the sampler wont play at full volume in 4.1 mode as it uses the left and right deck audio outs, and i find it's too quiet.
Why would it work before ad not now?

Hmmm, Intresting, same issue appears on my desktop system, tried installing 4.1, no change, then tried 4.0, and VDJ crashes on load everytime! Reloaded 4.2, VDJ now runs but with same 6.1 sound issue. I suspect that 4.0 doesn't like being where 4.2 has been!

When you said you did a re-install - was that a system re-install as in O/S and programs OR just VDJ? If total O/S re-install have you at least updated to the latest DirectX (Minimum Dec 2006 release)

Yes it was a full reinstall, brought a new hdd. Installed latest Directx after install, otherwise Cels plugins would not be working, Good idea though. =)
