1. I can't install skins for V4. it tells me that virtual dj is not installed.. when it very well is.
2. i dont care for the new sound card options. I prefered the advanced configuration in 3.4. That way i can have deck 1 go to my delta 410 channnel 1/2, deck 2 to 3/4, preview to 5/6 and samples/heaphones go to 7/8. now i can't do anything close to this.
3. no manual and no real explanation for what every little thing does

About skins, it's really weird, try reinstalling VDJ.
There are some explanations about new Performances setup, search the forum. Manual will be here soon, patience please.

Alf, I reinstalled three times last night with no change. there are other users reporting this as well

I don't know than, I was able to install skins with no problem. Try to unpack it because inside is a zip file that you can manually copy to skins folder. But I tried now with Winrar and Winzip and it cannot be done, it is packed with some other software (self extract exe). Maybe Support team can help you on this. And I saw that some other users have the same problem.

Alf, i was able to at first, but after a few minutes of playing with it wouldn't let me install anymore skins. My home pC isn't having this issue.. and it's the less powerful PC with small specs. the work PC has:
2.53 P4
XP Pro
1024 ram
delta 410 multichannel sound card
ATI radeon 9200 (128mb) videocard
the home PC has:
AMD Sempron 3400 (2.0 ghz)
512 ram
XP Home
2.53 P4
XP Pro
1024 ram

Reinstall version 3.4, install your skins as you did with 3.4 then install version 4 and all your skins will work..............so far i have not gotten an answer on wether you can then uninstal 3.4 and retain the skins.............hopefully someone can answer that 'cause I haven't tried it yet

also the skins made especially for v4 have loaded for me without any problem or without 3.4 installed

Nice trick dj-e-lectric, you can retrive your old skins from 3.4, just go to the Skins folder of VDJ and copy all the files (Zip and others) to any folder, install V4 in different folder (mine is in C:\Program Files\VirtualDJ4) and copy them to Skins folder and it will work. NOTE: when you have both versions installed (3.4 and 4) old skins will install in 3.4, and new skins like JeremK's CDJ1000 V4.0 will go in V4 folder because it is a V4 skin.
