Hi to everyone, I have not been on this forum for a year or so!!!!
I am going to a friends place tmorrow who is a VDJ/XP10 user like myself.
I am going to copy *SOME* of my mp3's, not all. Just the ones I need for a 2 hour set. However I don't want to lose my BPM/Cue points if necessary.
IS there a way of utilising my external hard disk to store this info?
THanks in advance!

copy ur database.xml file and put it in his virtualdj folder (make sure u put his somewhere safe and don't overwrite it) afterward.....all your cue points and bpms should be there--- of course after u scan the database.

Will it work if the directories are different (guess not) and also the drive letter will be different?
The other option is to copy the tunes over to my external HD and re-scan them over night??????

it works fine:)
The XML database is the database where all the info about your songs is... EXCEPT the files location :)
The file location is in the mp3database.txt file
So, just copy your xml database, and add the folders you want with the new placed mp3s, rightclick and choose "add to search database".
That will build a new mp3database.txt in a quick second, making all work again..
easy as that ;)

That is correct. It could take hours or even days to create the xml database file (analyzing all your songs), but only a few seconds or minutes to create the mp3database file.
