My poor old Sennheisers are about to crumble out of hands after nearly 10 years of faithful service, so it's time to change.
I've narrowed it down to either the Sennheiser HD 280 or the Sony MDR-V700DJ
I know there's a few post already relating to this, but as some of them are a little old, I thought I'd just see what you guys are using right now.

I used to have Stanton pro-60 very cheap headphones but the sound was incredible, but unfortunately they blew out, they don't have the capability of handling to much power.
Now I just bought Pioneer HDJ-1000 and the sound is outstanding, very crisp and clear and they do can take a lot of power.

After many years of using Sennheiser, i'd not use anything else. The Sennheiser HD 280 is probably unbeatable in my book.
One thing I notice now, though, is that when using VDJ I use headphones a lot less because I can see the beatmatch on the screen.

Sony MDR-V700, just won't let me down!
Had some cheap IXOS ones, well there were Ministry of Sound branded, but made by IXOS, and for the price they were unbeatable! but sony's if you have the cash.

I'm using Pioneer HDJ1000 but I'm not very satisfied about it. After 6 months they have broked: first the left side than the right side. I had to glue them :(

I use Behringer HPX-2000, it's cheap (25 euros), good sound and strong built. I have them for a year and they look like new!
About Sony MDR-700DJ, they are nice and everybody use them (famous Dj's), BUT take a look at this:

Even Dj Deals don't recommend to buy them because they brake so easy, it's unbealivable!! The same goes for Pioneer HDJ1000 as mariushallangos said, they are nice and good sound, but so brakeable!
If you don't have much money go for Behringer like I do, but if you want to spend more like Sony 700 and Pioneer 1000 price range (more than 100 euros), than go for the Technics RP-DH1200 > http://www.djdeals.com/technicsRPDH1200.htm

Well, I have tried a few, but then I got the idea to plug an FM Modulator into the headphone Jack and use a set of RaceTunes made by Peltor (Same as WorkTunes but without the extra input jack). They are ear muffs that you would wear at the Drag Strip with a built in AM/FM radio. By doing so, I filter out most of the external noise and do not have to crank the volume up to hear. I bought a second set so if I need to have someone else listen, I do not have to give them the ones that I wear. Now I am no longer tethered to the console!

I agree with dj-in-norway...I use Technics RP DJ1200 but...the TOP...at least for me...I have a system HI-FI in the headphone...truly spectacular...you the council...

I have Behringer HPX-2000, only 25e and I'm happy with it. Good sound, strong bass, but a little heavy. They are strong tough, after one year of use like new ;) !

if those headphones are still under warranty ship them back cause they broke. Pioneer will exchange the casing. Unlike Numark that refuses to fix their crap although ALL headphones break eventually.
So far Pioneer has been treating me very well.
