I just came back from Remix Magazine's convention in NYC. I must say, 99% of the club DJs are using Macs along with Serato. And most of the mobile DJs here in the states are using Macs as well. And "no", they're not trying to look cool! Like me, most of the jocks I know have been Mac users for over 12 years (we haven't jumped on the band wagon to look cool). My question is, will VDJ run on Mac's OS soon?

I seem to remember hearing that 4.0 would be mac compatible. I'd be making the jump myself if not for all my other non mac compatible software;^]

At the moment, I'm using MegaSeg. It happens to be the only DJ software that plays iTunes purchased files. But I'm outgrowing the software. There's no controller, no vinyl control records, and the software has no loop function, etc. It's very basic. So I'm looking at other alternatives? I really like VDJ, I think it's one of the best for audio and video. However, I was speaking to the Serato representatives at the convention, and they're introducing a Video Player in the next version of Serato. I think VDJ has to release a Mac version if they want to compete with Final Scratch, Scratch Live or TRAKTOR DJ Studio ?

That's great news! Like I said, I think VDJ has to release a Mac version if they want to compete with other companies. I know at least 15 DJs that would switch over to VDJ immediately if they released a Mac version. Does anyone know the release date for this Mac version?

99%, really? You took a poll? How many use drugs? How many are straight, or gay? How many beat their wives? My point, even if it were true, who cares what others are using? 99% of the DJs in my club, use some sort of mind altering chemical. Should I get excited? Most grownups are able to see through the bullshit, and make up their own minds, as to what works better for them. I am glad you Mac users are excited that a few companies are finally looking your way. Let's be honest here. In the scheme of things, there are only a hand full of Mac users through out the world. For every user that switches to a Mac, 100 are introduced to PC's. If Mac's were so great, why haven't they taken over the computer world? Through out history, those that thought they were superior, better than, had the same elite attitude, and looked alike, never succeeded. Oh yeah, they had a little flash, but it fizzled. The reason PC's will prevail is simple. We are all different. We don't drive the same cars, watch the same shows, like the same type of women. Our PC's are all different, just like we are. If all PC's crashed the way Mac users portrayed them, the world would come to a complete halt. As for most mobile jocks in the states using Macs, that is the biggest (let's be kind) exaggeration I have heard today. You took another poll, or you've seen this with your own eyes? What states are you talking about? I live in the USA, and have not seen one (1) mobile with a Mac. Now, that does not mean they don't exist, just that I have not seen one. I am sure there are plenty, but for you to say "most", is so laughable, I had to reply to your post. Take a deep breath, and relax. If we all switched to Macs, exactly how would that make your life better? Unless you own a few thousand shares of stock, don't get too excited. The "look cool" thing is so far out there, I won't even respond. I changed my mind, I will respond. Are Mac user dressing better and pulling more women? Take a poll, and get back to me.

Im on the East Coast and 99.9% (lol A Man and his Music) ...all the Dj's i know use PC im the only one with a Mac and it's been in the cellar for months....Beside all macs look the same lol, I rather have something i can build myself. as a matter of fact the dj's i know that use rane all have windows based laptops...and most are gonna be switching to Vdj. beside the G4 that i have as a paperwieght in my cellar the last time i've seen a mac in person was in 8th grade and that was...about 70% of my life ago

East Coast in da house. North Brunswick, NJ here. Will be in AC for the convention in Aug. Maybe we can meet there. Thinking of building a new machine myself. The one I am using now, I built 2 years ago. There have been so many improvements since then, I still have not decided which way to go. Duo core, AMD? PCIx or SLI? Do I need a quad video card? That's the beauty of this, I can pick and choose what works for me. And then change my mind after, I have made a decision. It's all good though, because I am not trying to persuade you either way. What ever you like is fine with me. Just respect my choice.

Now, here is a person that speaks the truth. You are absolutely right, Macs dominate the studios. I don't have a problem with the truth or Mac users. Can I say that again. I don't have a problem with the truth or Mac users. I do have a problem with bullshit, and people that speak out the side of their neck.

It's good that Apple has seen the light, and started using Intel chips, and running Windows. If it wasn't for the ipod, the company would have fallen a few years ago. It's only a matter of time until Steve completely sells out.

Allpe may support .exe extensions with new MacOS, but universal applications will run faster than PC. So VDJ for mac is not bad choice ;) I am waiting it! :))

most dj's i know use mac's it's the only way to go. there are good pc's like alienware that are steppin there gamed up for dj's

There are plenty like me who run VDJ on fairly low spec Windows laptops with absolutely no crashes, glitches or dropouts - at half the price of a Mac.
The computer is only a machine that we are using to play music with. If a PC works OK, is reliable and durable and is cheaper that's what I'll buy. If a Mac works OK and is cheaper that's what I'll buy. It's a business decision. This almost religious fixation that one is better than another leaves me cold.

not aimed at anyone particuarly, but it's a fact that the majority of "Computer DJ's" use Laptops with Windows, and VDJ is the most used DJ software on the market, go figure ;).
