Hi,
I am trying to download one of the samples from the downloads section of this site. Most of them I can get no problem, but the California Dreaming one for example says "Your level is not high enough to download this add-on".
What does this mean plz?

The message subject should read "samples", not "sound effects", sorry.
While we are on the subject of sound effects though, I see most of the downloadable ones are for the Pro edition, some are for the home edition. I have the console edition.
Does that mean I can't use any of them?

You have a Home Edition, so you can't get any addon labeled 'Pro level only'.

Surely a sample is just a sound, rather than an addon which requires a specific version of VDJ?

Yes basically a sample is a sound. The level doesn't mean your version can't read these samples, but it means that there's extended content for pro users.
