a 16 beat loop needs more memory to hold the stored loop in. Some computers could do this but atomixmp3 needs to be suited to everyone so 8 beat loop is the maximum.

As for the looping, it doesn't really require any memory to do a loop. Memory is required on external CD players because they have high latency seeking.
So as a result, you can have a 100 GB file and loop it any way you want without using more than 100 KB memory, and probably not even that as long as you read the file from hard drive.

The problem is memory. This has been discussed many times before. Maybe in the future the AtomixMp3 team will implement it somehow. (not that I can say for sure but....) Besides you could modify the bpm of the track and divide it in 1/2 and do an 8 beat loop and it would be 16.

If you divide the BPM by lets say 2 and press the 4beat loop... you'll have a 8 beat loop yes.... but when pressing the 8 beat loop, the length of the loop remains the same. This is the case for me and my songs...

Maybe it was just 8 beats for a 4 beat loop, I just noticed that the time doubled. I thought when it was divided by 4 though it was alot longer (8 beat loop that is).

modified bpm = 70---8 beat loop = 3.5s
original bpm = 140---4 beat loop = 1.8s
modified bpm = 70---4 beat loop = 3.5s

My conclusion is Atomix loop engine is capable of 3.5s of looping ability. Thanks Jim for encouraging me to do the research. To others that have posted the suggestion we all know the truth now :)

The loop is like a cue point.
you set the cue at the statr of the loop and the soft return automaticly at this cue point without stopping.

my wish is for a little knob or slider to tweak and adjust the loop length. often the beat detection is just a fraction of a second off and misses a beat when looping. If I could just add/subtract a few milliseconds to the loop. I hope you understand.
