I currently have Win98Se, and a SBLive Platinum (Not 5.1). When I open certain programs when Atomix is running, the beatmatch window stops, although everything else works fine. If I try to change the skin when the beatmatch window is stopped, it will say "Invalid Skin". If I close the program that stopped the beatmatch window, all will return to normal. And it doesn't happen all the time with every program, but seem to happen often with certain programs. No programs crash either, but it is annoying since I personally rely on the beatmatch window. ;)
