Topic: LUFS Algorithm Detection
Does Virtual DJ utilized the LUFS algorithm in its song analysis?

I’ve tried searching the online manual and could not find any mention of it.

The auto gain analysis most likely isn't LUFS based (@devs feel free to correct), but that shouldn't matter much in practice (levels are pretty close for properly master music).

Rememeber the aim of the software primarily is live performance - LUFS becomes more important for recording submissions to platforms that have restrictions on/limit audio levels.

@devs it might be worth looking into incorporating LUFS in the autogain calc if not already if it actually does make a difference.

Even current pop music can have variance in LUFS-Integrated levels , ie -12.00dB to -6.00dB. Therefore performing a LUFS-Integrated analysis can help maintain a consistent level even is the spectral balance and dynamic range may be different.

Most streaming platforms apply LUFS specs to each song to maintain a consistent loudness in playlists. For example, Apple Music utilizes a -16.00dB LUFS-Integrated standard with a -1.00dB True Peak

This is a great web site to actually review the loudness of songs.

There is no doubt that it can potentially improve things (trust I do deal with DAWs as well, and devs are most likely well versed in this as well)

The real question is - is the current implementation good enough? (And if not) Do you have examples of where it failed (e.g. the mixing of two songs one is clearly louder/softer than the other)?
