Subject: Feature Request: Smooth Auto-Scroll when dragging tracks in large Automix lists
Dear VirtualDJ Development Team,
I am writing to suggest an essential UI/UX improvement regarding playlist management during live performances, specifically within the Automix view.
The Problem:
When managing a large Automix list (e.g., 100–150+ tracks), attempting to drag a track—or a selection of multiple tracks—from the bottom of the list (e.g., track #120) up toward the top or middle section is extremely difficult. The interface lacks smooth, standard auto-scrolling while dragging items. As a result, dragging long distances across the list either gets stuck, drops the tracks accidentally, or moves too slowly for a fast-paced environment.
Impact on Live Workflow:
During a live event, quick decision-making and rapid queue adjustments are vital. Having to rely on workarounds (such as using the Sidelist, cut/pasting with shortcuts, or clearing played tracks) interrupts the natural flow of managing an event on the fly. Native drag-and-drop with responsive auto-scrolling is a standard feature in OS file managers and modern audio tools.
Proposed Solution:
Please enhance the drag-and-drop mechanism in the Automix and playlist views to support responsive, smooth auto-scrolling when hovering near the top or bottom boundaries of the view during a drag operation.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to making VirtualDJ the leading software for working professionals.
Best regards,
Yaron Malihi
